Amazon EC2 I4i Instances

Hi! AWS launched high-performance I4i instances with AWS Nitro SDD and Ice Lake processors. Nitro SSDs are NVMe-based storage with up to 30TB of capacity. The I4i instances deliver up to 128 vCPUs and 1,024 GiB of memory and 60 percent lower I/O latency than the prior I3 instances. Networking bandwidth reaches up to 75Gbps, and I4i supports 40 Gbps bandwidth to EBS.

The new instances are designed to minimize latency and maximize transactions per second (TPS) on workloads that need high-speed access to medium-sized datasets on local storage. Including transactional databases such as MySQL, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.

At this moment, it´s available in AWS US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland) Regions in On-Demand and Spot form. Savings Plans and Reserved Instances are available, as are Dedicated Instances and Dedicated Host.
